WELCOME TO BELGIUM
Belgium, the small country between France and the Netherlands, will surprise you in so many ways. Don’t be confused by its size, there are so many places to visit and things to do. You have the most famous cities like Brussels, Brugges, and Ghent but you also have less known ones like Dinant or Namur.
If you like nature, make sure to include the Ardennes, in the south of the country, in your itinerary. It is the perfect place to go hiking or kayaking. You will not be disappointed. If on the other hand, you are looking for a relaxing holiday at the beach, then head to the Belgian coast! Just keep in mind that the North sea waters can be a bit cold.
And what about its local cuisine? Well, Belgium is known to be the country of Beer, Fries, and Waffles! Yes, you are reading it right! Make sure to eat as much of them as you can while you are here!
Culture-wise, it is also a very rich and diverse country. There are two main regions, Vallonia and Flanders, where completely different languages are spoken.
Flanders is in the northern part of the country, where Flemish is the official language and Vallonia, is in the southern part of the country, where people speak French. To make it a bit more interesting, in the middle of the country you have Brussels, home to the European Parliament and Institutions, so people from many different nationalities live here.
