HOW TO GET TO AGRA?

Agra is easy to reach from many major cities in India. There are good road, rail, and air connections that will make it really simple for you to reach the city.

BY TRAIN

One of the best ways to reach Agra is by train. The city has several railway stations, with Agra Cantt being the main one. There are many fast trains that run daily from Delhi, Jaipur, and other big cities.

This is how we traveled between Delhi and Agra and the journey was quite comfortable. However, we experienced some big delays and the train ride lasted 2 hours longer than it should have.

It is recommended that you book your train tickets in advance if you want to travel in a specific class (which I recommend getting at least 2nd class). You can book your train tickets with 12Go Asia.

BY ROAD

Road travel is another very smooth and convienient way to reach Agra. The Yamuna Highway connects Delhi with Agra. The drive between Delhi and Agra takes between 3 to 4 hours and you can do so with a private car and driver, taxi, or bus.

We did the return journey from Agra to Delhi with a car and a private driver and it was also a very smooth drive. You can either ask your accommodation to organize transportation for you, or book it yourself with 12Go Asia.

BY AIR

Agra has a small airport as well, Kheria Airport. It only gets domestic flighst and they are quite limited, but if you are traveling from another city within India, flying to Agra might also be an option.

Book your flights with Skyscanner.

Once in Agra, there are many options to move around the city. The most common ones are auto rickshaws, cycle rickshaws, taxis, or app-based cabs. Most important places sit close to each other, which makes it quite easy to travel around the city.

We decided to hire a car with a driver for the day. This option is a bit more expensive but we wanted to prioritize comfort and efficiency during our day in Agra.
